Is there God?
The bible and the church are the only two main influential evidence that claim there is a GOD.
The bible is the only source that provides reference that God exists. However aside from the holy book, there are no other concrete external proof that God exists.
In fact, the bible itself provides evidence God really doesn’t exist.
Remember, Earth is made up of six major continents. It is inhabited by people of different colors, cultures, languages and belief systems. Because of these social diversities there will be billions of believers who will believe in some forms of gods and goddesses. There will also be thousands of different churches that will be established all around the world. And the bible itself will be translated hundreds of times in different languages like Hebrew, Greek, Latin, German and English which its original texts and contents would likely change. Now, if every culture adores a specific god or gods, interprets the holy scripture according to their self understandings and establishes religious congregations or churches based on their own belief systems, then how can we determine which one is the true church? Which one has the true Bible? Which one is the true God? Who among them adore the real God? Is God a Catholic? A Protestant? A Jew? A Muslim? A Buddhist? A Hindu? A Christian? Is God black? White? Yellow? Red? Green?
The best way to systematically answer all these questions is to study the origin of the bible and the history of each religion around the world. Then, determine who were the founders of these religious groups, when their churches or organizations were founded, and where they were founded. And then study, compare, and contrast the dogma or sacred teachings of these denominations with the skeptic question in mind: if the bible is considered as the Word of God, then why could it be altered by man or why would it have so many errors or mistakes? As an added bonus, we will also correct the misconception that creation cannot exist without a creator, or that design or laws cannot exist without a designer or a lawgiver. And finally, we will also examine if there is a way we can prove God exists without ever using any verse from the bible.
History tells us that the major prominent ancient religious traditions that surface to limelight are Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Taoism, Catholicism and Islam. Each one embraces its own bible and worships its own god. Catholics and Christians use the King JamesVersion as their bible. Buddhism uses Tripitaka, Islam the Koran, Taoism the Tao-Te-Ching and Judaism the Torah. Catholics name their God Yahweh, Islam as Allah and Judaism as Elohim. On the other hand, Taoism, Buddhism and Hinduism have a large numbers of male & female Gods. Yu-huang, Buddha and Khrisna are one of the great gods of Taoism, Buddhism and Hinduism respectively.
Catholicism outsmarted all these major and eventually other minor religious organizations like the Gnostic, Jewish and Pauline denominations. It utilized its immense power, political strategies and vast followers to achieve its worldwide recognition. Spreading out like fire from every corner of the world, the Roman Catholic Church became the dominant religious group. Through its pope, whose main papal seat is in Vatican Rome, God awarded to this “rock” the only sole authority to preach the gospel and build the true church. New age churches and christians groups claiming affiliation with catholic church are obviously not authorized by god through the blessing of the pope to preach the gospel and establish their own church. And these false faith groups or churches do not even have the four seals or marks that will authenticate a true church.
The four marks of a true Church: One, Holy, Universal, and Apostolic. The Catholic Church proclaims itself as holy because it was sanctified by a Divine God through a dream. It is universal because it spreads widely even to remote villages all over the world. It is apostolic because the founder of this movement was Jesus called Christ. Although there are different orders within the congregation, the church declares itself as One body. There are no other church that can claim that they are Holy, One, Apostolic and Universal except the Catholic Church.
Their founding fathers and first congregartion called themselves as Catholics at those times. They did not identify themselves as Christians, a label that will link them to Jesus Christ, to avoid persecutions. Christianity was viewed as a reform faction of Judaism — a revolutionary movement against the existing religion. To this day, Catholics and Christians are sometimes interchange(two different things). Catholicism is NOT a branch of Christianity. This is a big misconception. Christians religious groups are totally different from Catholics. Christian faith groups used this tactic of association to Catholicism to convince recruits decisively to join their fraud church. Even to this day, members of RCC still identify themselves as Catholics and not christians.
Eastern Orthodox and Protestant Reformation, which were once catholics, cannot withstand some of the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC). Both churches separated, revolted and decided to establish their own religions. These two radical churches and all other churches that came after RCC, which were not in agreement with the original gospel were spreading the wrong gospel. Why the wrong gospel? Their biblical teachings were obviously tainted or “contaminated”.
Similarly, this scenario happened to Jesus Christ who was bothered by some of the false practices within his judaism faith. He followed the same footsteps of disagreement by challenging the existing religious groups at his time. Not contented with the judaism beliefs, he gathered his own faith group, preached his own beliefs about his god and doctrines, and eventually established his religion and church. Looking back to the history of our time, this church was known to be the Roman Catholic Church (RCC).
So if we follow our line of thoughts based on above point of view, we may conclude then that the Roman Catholic Church is definitely the “True Church”.
Now, the next step is to prove the credibility or accuracy of its holy scripture. To do this, we will begin to examine the first book of the bible and various biblical passages that contradict each other. We will also study the existence of some imaginary animals like unicorns and dragons that can only amazingly be found in fairytale books. And we will also questions important personalities in the bible, specifically God and Satan, and suspicious events in the old and new testaments. Even Jesus Christ himself, who is the main figure of the bible and the person everyone prays and believes to be the savior, will also be scrutinized. His name does not even exist at all anywhere in the bible.
The first book of the bible is called Genesis. It talks about the story of creation, where God created the universe in just seven days. The biblical story started this way:
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 5 And God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And the evening and the morning were—the first day.6 And God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the water, and let it divide the waters from the water.” —the second day.11 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yields seed and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself upon the earth:” And it was so. —the third day.14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs seasons and for days and years.” 16 He made the star also. —the fourth day.20 And God said, “Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creatures that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.”—the fifth day.26 And God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and of the air, over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping their that creepeth upon the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him, male and female created he them—the sixth day.33 And on seventh day God ended his work, which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work, which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on it he had rested from all his work which god created and made.
If you closely read the first sentence of the divine story, God, in the very beginning, created only two objects: heaven and earth. He did not mention any other nearby planets like Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, planet X or any galaxy at all. Since these planets were only discovered lately when the telescope was invented in 1608 (only 400+ years ago), obviously biblical writers had no idea that earth was not the only planet that exists. And because of their limited knowledge and technology, the biblical story will definitely revolve only among four main characters: God, heaven, earth and man. That’s why Genesis was written with the first passage: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”.
Take note also that writers at that time were confined only by what they see. The division of the above and below caught their imagination in developing the idea of heaven and earth. They perceived that earth was a single dimension; and the sky, which they thought was heaven, was another dimension. They presumed that since men live on earth, a human-like life form also lives in heaven.
Writers at that time also failed to recognize that scientifically light should come first. We see objects because light reflects on objects. If light is not present, everything is black. Black is the absence of colors while white is the presence of colors. It is only through white light that we see objects in colors.
The biblical passages, starting from the second day to the sixth day, speak only about earth’s make over – water, vegetation and creatures were created but interestingly not on nearby planets. Was god overseeing the whole universe when he did the make over or he was simply standing on earth like a full grown man that he did not see the other planets? Or the biblical writers’ insufficient knowledge about our galaxy stopped them to speak more about the creation of the universe?
Aside from the inconsistencies of Genesis, there are lots of discrepancies outside of the bible too. The age of the Earth according to the genealogical interpretation of the bible is 6,000 years old. This means that God created heaven and earth approximately 6000 years ago only. Interestingly according to scientific research, it is 4.5 billion years old already. The difference between 4,500,000,000 and 6,000 calculates a huge chronological discrepancy. It seems this biblical god is not good enough in counting birthdays and remembering calendar days. Or maybe it was the gospel writers who lost count.
The Old Testament of the Bible, which contains 39 books, was written between 1400 to 400 B.C. or approximately 3410 years ago. The New Testament, which contains 27 books, was written approximately 40 to 90 AD or approximately 1500 years ago. All in all, the bible, which was written by various ancient authors, was made up of 66 individual books collected and compiled as a single book. The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John do not even identify themselves as the true authors of each gospel. Even the titles of each books or chapters do not even exist in the original compilation. Punctuations marks, which were not discovered yet at those times, also played a major role in mistranslating biblical passages. And obviously because of these loopholes, the divine story and its writings will more likely sound as man-made impression rather than a godly declaration.
Why did God choose Jesus Christ, Mohammed, Buddha or Khrisna, and not the first Cro-Magnon or the very first primitive man to spread his gospel? The bible said man was created to God’s image and likeness and most probably intelligence. Was the very first human not identical to God, or was God waiting for the evolution of man to kick in? Who came first, dinosaurs or men? Why are dinosaurs, not dragons or sea serpents, not mentioned ever in the bible? How long is a day to god—a billion years, a trillion atomic years or a microyoctosecond? Are we wired to believe in god or are we indoctrinated to believe god?
Since there are different religions all over the world and there are different gods likewise, who do you think is the authentic “GOD” — is it your god (if you have one) or it is their god? And which culture do you think is foolish; those people who adore sacred monkeys, those who adore golden elephants, those who adore symbols like crucifixes or those who adore other forms of gods? Can you ask yourself why without prejudice or discrimination?
Moreover, when an organization, a denomination or a church of people is actively engage in a system of religious worship or ritual, the group is called as a cult. This means that any believer in any god is simply a member of the cult. Aside from the definition extracted from Encyclopedia Britannica, other accompanying traits of a religious cult include the formal veneration to god or saint by its member, the mandate to voluntarily support financially or otherwise their church or doctrines, and the manipulative tactics of its leaders to capture more followers by way of the scripture.
On the other hand, followers of Christ define religious cults in different way. When a religious group contradicts or misrepresents the fundamental teachings of the bible founded by Jesus, that organization is without any doubt considered a cult. This means that all religious groups who do not subscribe to the teachings prescribed by the first original church, the Roman Catholic Church, are considered cult. The Greek Orthodox and the Protestant Reformation, which are considered the oldest religious groups after the Catholic Church, and eventually all other religious sects emerging even to this day, are definitely regarded as religious cult. Is your religion a cult? Does your church preach the same original teachings prescribed by the Catholic Church or just like the others; you simply accept beliefs without questions?
Here are other things to reconsider before believing the biblical god, the bible and even your religion:
1. Historical timeline:
In 3000 BC, Khrisna was born. After few more years, he founded Hinduism.

* From this timeline, it is obvious that there are other gods and prophets who are adored and venerated by people of different culture, religions and beliefs. These are evidences how the Think Factor works.

2. Geographical mapping:
The oldest religion is believed to be Hinduism. It started geographically from India and spread towards the north going west to Babylonian (now called iraq) where Abraham was born and Judaism obviously started. From here, Christ following the religion of Abraham, begun to spread throughout Europe where Catholicism was born. Then, the concept of religion spread down to the Middle East where Muhammad was born and Islam was introduced. It spread in the northern portion of Africa and some parts of Asia.
On the east side of India, Buddhism was spreading all throughout China. At the same time, through the intellectual strategy of the Society of Jesuits, by sending missionaries and teachers throughout the world, methodically spread the word of Jesus in America, Canada. Southern part of Africa, Russia and Australia
3. Intercultural context of the bible.
Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam all believed in a divine covenant between the God of Israel and Abraham. These three religions also believed in the ten commandments or the Law of God, the great flood, birth of christ, resurrection of the dead and many more.
This simply shows that the knowledge gained by the modern man were learned from ancient man, unless of course if the information in the story was discovered or faked by man.
4. Different Versions of the bible.

5. There is no such name as Jesus Christ in the bible at all.
Actually Christ Jesus name should be Emmanuel.
Keep in mind that the bible was first written in Hebrew. This means that all the passages in the bible were not in English. They were in Hebrew. And in Hebrew alphabet there is no such thing as the letter “J”.
So, every kid who bears the name “jesus” at that time was actually named “Yehoshua”. (they do not have the word jesus in their vocabulary). Today, its english counterpart is “Joshua” and not “jesus”.
And speaking of the word Christ, Christ is not Jesus’ last name.
Even to this day, there are some parts of the world where people do not have a lastname. These remote places use unique identification systems that distinguish themselves from one another. If Joe’s father is a farmer, this boy will be called “Joe, the son of the farmer”. If Joe is cross-eyed, then most probably he will be called “Joe the cross-eyed”.
Yehoshua at those days was never called Jesus Christ. Most likely he was called as “Joshua, the son of Joseph” or “Joshua, the son of the carpenter” but not Yehoshua Christ.
And many people at that time also thought that yehoshua was the messiah. And messiah in Hebrew is Moschiach. So if we translate the words “Jesus the messiah” it should read as “Yehoshua Moschiach”. This name is the real “Jesus Christ”.
Other people called Yehoshua as the anointed one. So he was sometimes called ” Joshua the anointed”. And people at that time who are anointed were called Khristos. The word Christ is a variation. This means that “Joshua the anointed “is translated as “Jesus the Christ “and not as Jesus Christ.
So if I pray to him tonight, it should now be:
“Thank you Yehoshua Moschiach, for leading us not into temptation, and delivering us from evil. For this is your kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever.”
Isn’t it weird? I thought after all these years I was praying to the real savior Jesus the Christ. But it turns out I must be praying to the original savior Yehoshua the Moschiach.
Hmmm….now I know why some of my prayers are not answered, I am praying to the wrong guy.
And the funny thing, Mary was told by an angel to call her unborn son “Emmanuel”. She did not listen!
6. Did you know that jesus went to India?
He went there to learn black magic and use mind boggling illusions back to his hometown to perform “miracles”. He even used this knowledge to illude his captors in Gethsemane! It was not jesus who was crucified in golgotha!
At that time when jesus was forcefully taken from the garden of Gethsemane, it was too dark for the soldiers to recognize who was who. The soldiers mistakenly took judas instead of Christ during the commotion. But judas did not squeal that he was not jesus. He just accepted to be crucified thinking that his soul will be cleansed out from sin.
Did you know that during the last supper, where everyone was eating and drinking wine, jesus said to his 12 disciples “”I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me”.
And james asked; It is I my lord?
God said: “No, not you my son”.
Then peter said; “surely not I, rabbi”
Yes peter! You are safe.
Then jesus intensely looked at judas.
Judas cried out without hesitations;
“That’s the problem with you master; every time you’re drunk you always point your fingers on me!”
So to get even, judas went to an Israel priest and sold jesus for 30 pieces of silver.
Excerpts from the book — The Enigma of God by J. Lawsin
“The bible when taken metaphorically, provides us the truth about god; but when taken literally, the bible provides as the truth about man”. ~ Joey Lawsin
